Professor Ross Thompson

About Ross

Professor Ross Thompson is Foundation Director of the Centre for Applied Water Science in the Institute for Applied Ecology at the University of Canberra. His research is in ecosystem and community ecology, particularly in freshwater. This includes projects focused on environmental water management, urban water, climate change impacts, carbon farming and Indigenous perspectives on water.

 

Ross has a strong interest in science education and communications. He is a Lead Councillor and foundation member of the Biodiversity Council, a visiting scientist at CSIRO and a past member of the ARC College of Experts.
